Lead Time & How to Read a Power Tools PL Quote

Aug 31, 2026

Answer first

In power tools private label, a useful quote is not “the lowest number.” It is a written package: what is included, what is excluded, sample vs mass-production lead time (usually in weeks), packing, and how price moves if size, Ah, or cert path changes. KaimaLabel quotes after a PL brief — we do not publish a fixed price list, because tier, market, and mix change the number.

Lead time — how to talk about it honestly

StageWhat “lead time” usually coversHow we state it
SampleMake / prepare sample after brief lockMeasured in weeks, written per SKU
Packaging freezeArtwork + carton/sleeve confirmOften overlaps sample; do not print full brand pack before function OK when possible
Mass productionAfter deposit / PO terms + frozen BOMWeeks, depends on line load and mix
Re-orderSame BOM / versionOften shorter than first PO if stock plan exists — still confirm in writing

We do not promise calendar dates on a marketing page. Dates belong in the project email/WhatsApp after SKUs are locked.

What stretches timelines

  • Many machine models in one first PO (we recommend lean tools + deep consumables)
  • Unclear cert path (“need UL” with no scope)
  • Packaging languages and barcodes late
  • Silent BOM changes between sample and bulk

How to read a PL quote (checklist)

Ask that every quote line answers:

  1. What SKU / family (e.g. C5 metal disc size, T1 kit config)
  2. Unit of price (FOB / EXW / other — as agreed in writing)
  3. What is included (tool only? battery? charger? sleeve? carton? manual?)
  4. MOQ and price break if any
  5. Sample fee / deductible rules
  6. Lead time band (sample + bulk, in weeks)
  7. Cert status for this SKU: ready / in progress / can start
  8. Validity of the quote (how many days)

If a quote is only a single number with no packing list, treat it as incomplete.

Price vs total risk

Cheap unit priceOften hides
Lowest sampleDifferent bulk cells / plastics
No spare-parts lineAftersales cost later
“UL ready” with no fileCompliance risk (esp. USA)

Total cost includes QC misses, rework, and dead stock — not only the factory sticker price.

FAQ

Can you give a price without a brief?
Not a reliable one. Tier, size, and pack change the number.

Why “weeks” instead of exact dates on the website?
Because line load and SKU mix change. Exact dates belong in the project thread after lock.

Do consumables ship faster than tools?
Often the cycle is simpler, but still confirm per family — do not assume.

Do you guarantee landed cost in my country?
We can discuss terms (e.g. FOB) in writing. Duties and local inland are usually on the buyer unless agreed otherwise.
